Sharon Greenaway, Miniature Art Gallery 2020

Sharon Greenaway, Miniature Art Gallery 2020, 15 June 2020
The images are all my own, rejigged and repurposed into a miniature art gallery of works that are special to me. The books have photographs in them of family, flora and fauna.
Working on this brought out unexpected memories that were cathartic for me during isolation.
I hope you are inspired and enjoy.

Julie Kala, Charlie & Sammy, 16 June 2020
A friend wanted me to do a painting of her brother's dogs for his birthday as one had recently passed away. Painted, framed and posted all within the week. Quick turnaround!

Jane Coburn, Irish Cottage

Jane Coburn, Irish Cottage, 16 June 2020
This is my first attempt at painting with Gouache. The medium is water-based—similar to watercolour, but more opaque.  I found it easier to work with and  it's definitely more "forgiving" than watercolour.

Angela Morrissey, Woman in a Chair with Yellow Background (after Picasso)

Angela Morrissey, Woman in a Chair with Yellow Background (after Picasso), 20 June 2020
In 1929 Pablo Picasso painted 'Woman in a Chair with Yellow Background'. I grew up with a reprint of the artwork on my wall and took it with me when I left home. I painted an appropriation of the great masterpiece including a self-portrait in the background.

Mural on plaster wall to match three other brick walls in a family room. One busy week.

Gail Casey, Interior for N

Gail Casey, Interior for N (Acrylic paint with traditional pigments and glazes.), 21 June 2020
A multi-layered interior painting in which I aimed to subdue colour and edges to create a soft and quiet space.

Duffy - Ha Ho Art, Deck Chair Babe

Duffy - Ha Ho Art, Deck Chair Babe, 22 June 2020
Well I didn't think I would be doing more deck chair art, in Bendigo at least! This one is for a dear friend and her dad who is not traveling too well... It is of her mum (his wife) on Sydney's Manly beach  in the 1950s. It was painted from a scanned old black and white photograph on artist's canvas attached to an upcycled deck chair. A light, bright and happy Ha Ho beach deck chair to hang in his bedroom to keep him company!
