“Play At Home is one of several initiatives Bendigo Venues & Events has introduced to support artists and our community at this challenging time. We consider arts an essential component of healthy living and I am so pleased we can help our community experience great local arts and entertainment on a digital platform, in their homes during this period of isolation.”
David Lloyd. Manager, Bendigo Venues & Events
We want to share the talent of local performing artists through our digital networks, to support local artists, audiences and community.
Ulumbarra and The Capital’s Facebook pages will broadcast ‘watch parties’ featuring local artists, commencing as soon as videos are submitted.
We’re looking for musicians, comedians, actors, story-tellers, poets, dancers and any performing artists to share their talents with Bendigo - and the world - by completing a short application form (link below) and uploading a video of your performance.
The video can be up to ten minutes in length and can be as rough and ready as you like. (A phone video will be fine, for example.)
We won’t be editing your video – we will publish content in the same state we receive it…
The amount and nature of the content we receive will determine the schedule and frequency of broadcast, but we will give you plenty of notice so you can let your people know when we will be sharing your video via Facebook. Play At Home content will be posted and shared to our digital audience of about 25,000 initially, who knows from there?!
