Overview
Glimmers is a community art exhibition featuring a powerful collection of artworks, stories and poetry from people in the Bendigo community who have experienced family violence and/or have supported someone through their experience. You’ll see artworks diverse in medium, size, and subject matter.
It is the launch project of The Glimmer Initiative - a survivor-led organisation providing accessible support, safety, sanctuary, education and creative opportunities for women and children affected by family violence in the Bendigo region.
The exhibition’s name is based on the idea of a “glimmer” (which is the opposite of a trigger) – a moment which creates a strong sense of calm, reflection, safety and strength.
Glimmers is curated by Rhayven Jane, local artist and founder of The Glimmer Initiative.
