The Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority returns to Bendigo in 2026 with Top Class Regional.

Designed for current and prospective VCE secondary students, this concert features a selection of stunning performances from high-scoring 2025 VCE and VCE VET Dance, Drama, Theatre Studies, and Music students. A curriculum expert will compare the concert, providing insight into each study design and what is required to prepare for and achieve a high score in VCE performance examinations.

Audiences will experience brilliant examples of VCE VET Dance styles, VCE Dance Skills-based and Cohesive Composition solos, VCE Drama original monologues, VCE Theatre Studies scripted monologue interpretations, and VCE and VCE VET Music group and solo performances. Whether you're preparing for exams or eager to discover the possibilities of VCE performing arts studies, you are sure to enjoy these extraordinary performances.

Following the concert, audiences are invited to attend a free 45-minute Q&A session with a selection of performers from each performance area and a curriculum expert. This is an opportunity for students and teachers to ask all about performers’ creative processes and their experience preparing for and undertaking their 2025 VCE examinations.

A full program will be available from mid-February 2026 on the VCAA Top Class webpage.

Suitable for all ages. Part of the VCE Season of Excellence 2026, presented by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority.

The Venue: Ulumbarra Theatre

Meaning ‘gather together’ or ‘meeting place’ in the language of the local Dja Dja Wurrung people, Bendigo’s Ulumbarra Theatre rises majestically from what was once the Sandhurst Gaol.
