The Rainbow Ball is a celebration for young people who identify as LGBTIQ+.

We will have all the glitz, glitter and pizzazz, to be held at the Ulumbarra Theatre on 28 September 2018.
We will provide a safe, welcoming, inclusive, drug- and alcohol-free event for young people between the ages of 16-25 years who identify as LGBTIQ+ to celebrate diversity & inclusivity in Bendigo.

The young people will be greeted at the Ulumbarra Theatre entrance by a guard of angels as a safe passage into the event. Consisting of LGBTI elders and local community support workers.

Young people will be able to dress with pride whether in rainbow colours or colours of their identified community.
The event will consist of formal and informal photos, a special performance, finger food and plenty of dancing and speeches of encouragement, positivity and love from community members.

The event will be cross generational and inclusive of allies in a safe and inclusive space and will foster ongoing relationships and participation in the LGBTIQ+ community more broadly.

Partners include headspace, THCountry, FAB-CV, Bendigo Police GLLOs, members of the LGBTIQ+ community, Anglicare, City of Greater Bendigo, CERSH and more.

The Venue: Ulumbarra Theatre

Meaning ‘gather together’ or ‘meeting place’ in the language of the local Dja Dja Wurrung people, Bendigo’s Ulumbarra Theatre rises majestically from what was once the Sandhurst Gaol.
