Lost In Venice is based on the true story of amateur filmmaker Ron Vincent and his wife Rita Vincent and centres on Ron’s pivotal and ill-fated trip to Italy in the summer of 1965.
Lost In Venice is a fractured tale of travel and identity, longing and belonging and the disparate perspective of relationships from those travelling abroad and those left at home in Australia. The production is interspersed with song, archival super 8 film footage and cabaret performances. Lost In Venice is an examination of a relationship and a life as told through vignettes between a wife and husband from post World War 2 through to present day.
Featuring performers, Abigail King and Nikki Nouveau, the show combines theatre, archival film projection and cabaret.
Produced by the creators of ‘The Paris Underground Cabaret’, Australia’s most successful touring cabaret show, Lost In Venice is an entertaining, multi-disciplined theatrical excursion that is also a return to the genesis of Raconteur Productions’ theatrical ancestry of drama and theatre.
Lost In Venice is a theatre piece that will entertain, intrigue, charm and challenge.
