Hamlet
Presented by Sheoak Productions

From the team that brought you Two Gents and Midsummer, Sheoak Productions are proud to present Hamlet, a Commedia dell’Arte adaptation of Shakespeare’s famous tragedy. This production will be re- contextualised and set in the 'Circus Belli' in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1939; a boom time for big top circus as the leading form of entertainment, but also a time that sees the world delicately balanced on the tight rope precipice of World War Two. Battle lines are drawn, sides are taken and as the tragic climax is reached, Hamlet, The Circus and Denmark are all left crumbling.
Presented in beautiful outdoor venues in Bendigo and Melbourne, bring along your food, drinks, and picnic gear for a wonderful night out of high energy Shakespeare as you've never seen it before.
(we recommend blankets and chairs for the grass in Bendigo, blankets and cushions or low chairs for the amphitheatre in Melbourne)

This performance is also being held at Fairfield Amphitheatre
