Renowned choreographer and performer, Kelly Aykers is thrilled to announce the launch of Company A, a Professional Broadway Dance Company that is set to take the stage by storm. It all kicks off in 2019 with Broadway and Beyond - a show produced, directed and choreographed by Kelly which will combine the style and class of Broadway dance with a cutting edge twist that will take company performance to a whole new level.
Company A features eleven professional, technical Broadway dancers and singers and showcases all elements of a Broadway production number as well as going beyond to incorporate lyrical/contemporary dance components. It is a show that harnesses the energy of the infamous ‘ten o’clock numbers’ that are a feature of professional Musical Theatre and are designed to get an audience to their feet. It is a high energy, technical display of dance that will leave audiences exhilarated.
“I am extremely passionate about this show and the essence that I am creating. I believe this style of dance as an art form has been under represented of late so am excited to present a strong company of dancers that can bring it back to the forefront in its purest form. As a Victorian country girl originally, it is particularly important to me to support the regional areas and bring high end Broadway dance to their doorstep. Over the years and even more so now as director of a tertiary dance academy, it is clear that the country areas are a hotbed of technical dance talent and quality training. Our aim then is to entertain, inspire and show dancers,
their families and anyone with a love for classic entertainment just why they fell in love with dance in the firstplace.” - Kelly Aykers.
