A VERY AUSTEN AFTERNOON

Join us at Mackenzie Quarters for an afternoon tea to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen's birth, and the release of two Austen inspired novels.

Kelly Gardiner and Alison Goodman will be in conversation with Katrina Nannestad to discuss all things Austenesque - mystery, manners and the role of women in the Regency period.

Miss Caroline Bingley, Private Detective
by Kelly Gardiner and Sharmini Kumar

Two years after the events of Pride and Prejudice, Miss Caroline Bingley discovers a shocking, cold-blooded murder

As Caroline exercises her superior powers of investigation, she finds out exactly what an accomplished, independent woman with a sharp mind and a large fortune can achieve - even when pitted against secrets, scandal, and a murderer with no mercy.

A delightful new historical cosy crime mystery from beloved authors Kelly Gardiner and Sharmini Kumar.

The Ladies Road Guide to Utter Ruin
by Alison Goodman

In Regency England, the eccentric Colebrook sisters are amateur detectives who use their wits and invisibility as 'old maids' to fight injustice in this delightful novel of mystery and adventure.

To most of high society, forty-two-year-old Lady Augusta, or Gus, and her twin sister Julia are just unmarried ladies of a certain age - hardly worth a second glance. But the Colebrook twins are far from useless spinsters.

A rollicking feminist romp - think Jane Austen meets James Bond - that breaks the shackles of period genre fiction.
