Unfettered and Alive- Anne Summers in conversation.
Travelling around the world as she moves from job to job, in newspapers and magazines, advising prime ministers, leading feminist debates, writing memorable and influential books - Anne Summers has not been afraid to walk away from success to charge down new and risky paths.
Whatever position she has held, she has expanded what's possible and helped us see things differently - often at high personal cost.
The author of the classic Damned Whores and God’s Police shares stories about the famous and powerful people she has worked with or reported on. She is frank about her own anxieties and mistakes.
Now, in her new memoir, Unfettered and Alive, Anne Summers revisits it all, including the heart-breaking family violence and the ultimate reconciliation with the father who had rejected her.
Anne Summers will be in conversation with Claire Flanagan-Smith, at the Bendigo Bank Theatre in The Capital, 3pm-4pm, Saturday October 27. Books will be on sale for signing following the event.
This is a Bendigo Writers Festival Bookmark event, with thanks to Allen and Unwin.
